Our Faculty

Professor Hélder Ferreira is the Head of the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Unit of Centro Hospitalar Universitário in Porto, Portugal. He is also a Professor of Gynaecology at the University of Porto and a holder of two fellowship programs in Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgery with Prof. Arnaud Wattiez (France-2009) and Prof. Joerg Keckstein (Austria-2011).

He is Full Executive Board Member of ESGE (European Society of Gynaecological Surgery). Advisory Board Member of EEL (European Endometriosis League). Board Member of the Portuguese Society of Gynecology. He is president of the Portuguese Society of Minimally Invasive Surgery. He performs advanced laparoscopic surgeries (endometriosis, oncology, genital prolapse and uterovaginal malformations) and robotic gynecological surgery.

He is the author of several original articles, book chapters, short communications, and surgical video publications. He lectures in national, regional, and international scientific meetings/congresses. He has performed live interactive surgeries in several countries during conferences and postgraduate courses. In addition, he has tutored many training courses on dry/live-tissue lab and cadaver dissection.
