Professor Xu Dabao serves as Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University in Changsha, China, where he is also a doctoral supervisor and mentor to many young specialists in the field.
Professor Xu is widely recognized for his pioneering contributions to hysteroscopic surgery and intrauterine disease management. He currently serves as President of the Intrauterine Diseases Committee of the Chinese Obstetricians and Gynecologists Association (COGA), reflecting his leadership and influence in advancing women’s health care in China and internationally.
A highly accomplished innovator, Professor Xu has developed several groundbreaking surgical instruments and technologies, including integrated hysteroscopic systems, specialized operative scopes, uterine stents, and non-pump uterine distension devices.
He is especially renowned as a pioneer of hysteroscopic cold instrument surgery, helping to advance safer and more effective minimally invasive procedures for gynecologic patients.
In recognition of his expertise and innovation, Professor Xu received the prestigious “Best Video on Hysteroscopy” award at the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) Global Congress in 2016.
Today, Professor Xu continues to contribute extensively to clinical practice, education, and research in gynecologic endoscopy and reproductive surgery.
